its pretty much awesome , I am running 3 NN without an issue on it , hotplug compatable with Linux ( though that might depend on distro ),really quiet , am surprised by how quiet it is , seriously . I deffinatly recommed it , they keyboard on the other hand just made my year , hell , pressing on that thing gives me more joy programming that i didnt have for a while, i kinda forgot about the GPD for a while cuz of it ;)
The G1 is well constructed, with qusality materials. All is working like intended. Performance are good, even with the switch in quite mode.
All games are playable at 2K resolution with almost 60 to 120 FPS.
Device is cool, never exceed 70 degrees Celsius, fans are audible but the sound is quiet. Not like some gaming laptop who are like rocket turbines.
The GPD G1 is an awesome GPU.
I am using it with the GPD Win 4 2024, and it is a really great extension for that.
Very compact, not too noisy (for me, when its running flat out it sounds a bit like a laptop but quieter I would say), works great, I've had no issues with detection or with games choosing it for the graphics even with an internal AMD gpu on-chip. Bigger than a standard laptop power brick but basically its like carrying a larger power brick and you get a solid GPU out of it!
Very portable with my WM2 and powerful, majority of my games I’m getting well over 100fps with 120watt bios on an external 4k ultra wide monitor with low graphics settings. On just the WM2 screen I’m getting a solid 60fps 2k, on just using the Oculink cable. Highly recommend this eGPU if you’re looking for something strong and portable.
